DELUXE GARDEN
OF FLOWERS
WITH FINALE BOUQUET
EFFECT: A complete
flower act. The magician shows an attractive foulard to be completely empty.
Then in rapid succession, THREE LARGE SIX BLOOM BOUQUETS are produced. For a finale,
a GIANT ELEVEN BLOOM BOUQUET is produced (shown at the rear of the photo).
PERFORMANCE: Hold the foulard by the corners with each hand with the color panel toward the audience. Quickly cross your arms to show the back of the foulard to the audience. This move convinces the audience that the foulard is empty. With one hand grasp the foulard in the center, pattern side toward the audience. When grasping the foulard at the top, make sure to hold the flaps closed. This prevents the flaps from falling open. Gravity will hold the bottom flaps in place. Notice which flap has a button attached to it. This is the indicator of the pocket holding the eleven bloom bouquet. This is the last bouquet to be produced. Reaching under the foulard with your other hand, grasp the pull ring under the black flap. LIFT THE FOULARD UPWARD, producing the first bouquet. Lifting the foulard in this manner creates the impression that the bouquet has been produced from under the foulard. Pulling the bouquet downward emphasizes the fact that the bouquet has been pulled from the hidden pocket. Give the foulard a quarter turn to produce each of the next two bouquets. Be sure to save the large bouquet, located under the flap with the button, for the last production. Before producing the final bouquet, show the foulard once again to be empty by showing both front and back of the foulard. Spot the slight bulge of the final bouquet as you turn the foulard; this allows you to produce the last bouquet without fumbling.
CURTAIN CALL: Note that the color panel in the front not only adds beauty, but helps focus attention away from the black portions of the foulard. Thus the foulard is made to appear smaller than it really is. Bouquets can be called upon for double duty in your show. Use one or more of them as sleeve bouquets in your opening. After your opening production, have an assistant load them in the foulard for a later presentation. When using your bouquets in this manner, alternate their use as sleeve bouquets in order to spread the wear more evenly.
